Global Systemically Important Banks Disclosures (G-SIB)
On July 3, 2013, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) issued a document entitled Global systemically important banks: updated assessment methodology and the higher loss absorbency requirement. This document outlined the G-SIB assessment methodology which is based on the submissions of the largest global banks. The score for a particular indicator is calculated by dividing the individual bank value by the aggregate amount for the indicator summed across all banks included in the assessment. Accordingly, an individual bank's ranking is reliant on the results and submissions of other global banks.
In November 2019, TD was designated a G-SIB by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) based on the Bank's financial position as at the year ended October 31, 2018 and methodology published by the BCBS. This designation reflects the size and scale of TD's global operations.
The information in the BCBS G-SIB Disclosure Template is a detailed version of the G-SIB indicators included in our First Quarter Report to Shareholders.
